I was just thinking today about the new 2007 ES350 coming out in the spring... for those of us with a 2nd gen ES, it's now two generations old... and since my car is a 97, it's now going to be 10 years old. What does everyone think this will do to the value / popularity of our cars? With some of the features of the new ES, it may make people think higher of the ES of all years.... but at the same time, our cars are now 2 generations old and very different. Will it be thought of like the SC's as having a timeless design? I'm not sure... but I think it says a lot for Lexus that my 10 year old car that people still always ask if it's a late model. I don't think I'm going to even be able to sell it because I'd miss it too much, lol.

*You're a third gen ES owner.
*It won't do anything to the value. It will continue to backslide, but not at a tremendous rate compaired to any other car.
*Once they're two years old, ES prices slide at the same rate a Camry XLE slides at. i.e. good for the class it's in. It just hits rock bottom a year, or two, or three after a completely loaded Camry would.

I like the look of the first gen and wish I had one. When I look at cars I think of it as a one-day classic or antique. Whatever car I own I want to restore it because 30-40 years from now there you wouldn't see much of that car anymore (like a Delorean). Also 30-40 years from now there will probably be no fuel so the car would be worthless anyways (j/k
) Lexus came around in the 90's so our cars are sort of the pioneers when Lexus will be around for their 100th anniversary. That is why the Es250 is cool. Besides that, I like to take care of my cars ![Big Grin](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
p.s. Es250's are starting to get rare, I don't see much of them (maybe that is the way it should be)
