…the car succumbed to 15 feet of storm surge, flooding and a bigger a** two level dive boat. And although the dive boat landed on top of about 20 cars, it grazed mine and took out the front right quarter panel, well maybe the whole right side. No consolation, the car was messed up in a big way! Even worse my insurance company pulled out the “act of god” clause and told me I would not be getting any money back. Let’s just say there were some heated exchanges, and in the end I lost, as did other people.

dude, crappy insurance, I would've atleast got the insurance on the boat

...it had less to do with the insurance carriers down there and more to do with how things are run in the country. they don't like expats. it was a bad situation all around, similar to what the poor people in New Orleans and surrounding area are going through. some had all the proper insurance, still no go...

that royally sucks! What's the point of paying for insurance if they don't pay for damages? I don't care what kind of damage except for the kind that you take a stick and beat your car with it on your own.

Generally that really sucks tho....but not unexpected from an insurance company.
