If you remove the resonator the exhuasts will be louder.But since it is a V-6 I do not know how loud.On the LS it has a nice grumble.
On Hp gains you might get about 5-10 hp.It all depends on how good the piping is done by the shop.I would stick to 2 1/2 in to so that you do not loose power in the low end.If you want high power you should go with 3 in.Also make sure the welding is done good and it does not have alot of bend because bends will make it sound louder.
