My 2003 ES 300 (just purchased privately) still has powertrain warranty left, but, is past the comprehensive coverage that would have likely covered this, so wondering if this is something simple that I can do myself?

In the fully closed position, the rear of the moonroof sits just slightly below (maybe 1/8")
the roof line. I don't believe any water can get in, but, I think I'm likely getting a slight bit of wind noise from it and obvioulsy I'd prefer it to sit completely flush with the roof when closed.

It closes in the same postion whether I close it from the fully retracted or popped up position.

Is there an adjustment I can make to its closing position without taking the whole thing apart or better yet, could anyone provide a link to a tutorial with pictures showing how to perform this adjustment?

Did anyone ever send you any type of response? I have a 96 ES300 with a similar issue. I can hear some air leak noise at high speeds. When I go through a car wash or heavy rain, I can feel slight moisture. Please let me know if there is any type of adjustment that can be made.

here is a link to another Lexus forum where I discussed with another forum member how to do the adjustment. I do not know if the sunroof on your '96 model is the same sunroof mechanism as on my '03 model.
