Default still rubbing with new struts

i just had my old stock struts replaced with KYB GR-2s but my car still rubs around turns with people in the back. i know i have wider SC430 wheels but is there no way to eliminate the rubbing problems? i already have spacers just to make them fit. i was even thinking about lowering the car with springs but it already rubs. would stiffer springs work? they're still on stock springs. is there anything i can do?

Less than an inch? Tons of space! The wheels on my GS are 3mm away from the front suspension upright!

As long as there is a little clearance, you're okay. The strut moves up & down with the wheel/tire, so as long as there is a little clearance it should never touch.

My guess is that the 18x8 +50 SC wheels don't fit the rear of the ES at all without spacers. I have tested 18x8.5 +40 and it does not work on tha back of the ES. An 18x8.0 +50 is 4mm MORE inboard than the 18x8.5 +40 that I tested and did not fit.

First, he needs to determine WHERE and WHAT is rubbing.

Under hard cornering, the tires sidewall can flex from side to side which can cause rubbing. 3mm is darn tight.
Just a thought.

if you had fully adjustable coilovers i would tweak your rear alignment a bit...

otherwise you roll your fenders

Get 3 of your heaviest buddies and have them sit in the rear and check it out.

BTW, You really should check the clearance while the car is on the ground, not on the lift.
