The Toyota plant which builds the Camry here in the USA is about a 30 min drive away from my house. I've taken a tour of the plant a few times, and let me tell you, the quality control is very very stringent. I would expect the US-built cars to be as reliable as their Japanese counterparts.

Well-just for the info I have had a Camry before great car but The Toyota dealers are just plain lousy and they don't care about the customer. The Lexus service means a lot to me.
Look at the available reliability reports and you will seen the Japanese built models have an edge.Lexus knows this so that is why they are built in Japan.

We have both Camry and ES300 in my family. Yes, ES300 is quieter and more luxury feeling but I don't think it's worth the money. They both look alike to me. I'd rather get a Honda Accord or Nissan Altima.

I've driven the new Altima, that car is awful. Looks really nice, but besides the engine, the car really is a terrible family car.
