i have 225 40 18 on my 96 ES300, for some reason, only after 9000 i noticed the inner and outer sides are wearing out especially faster than the center. I heard that underinflation could be the cause, but I have all four tires at 42psi. any suggestions

Hope you had the four wheel allignment checked after modifying the tire size and wheels..

Get a real alignment done, run 38psi. If you're a high spirited driver, rotate tires every oil change, or every other.

since the sides of the tires are already low in rubber (less than 2/10 inch left), would the alignment fix the problem? or should i wait to my next round of tires then align it?
