Removing Stereo on ES300 (92)
Hi
Can anyone tell me how to remove the stereo/radio/cassette from my ES300. It is a standard factory unit.
Also id there a way to get a face plate for an ES so i can add a different stereo system? I find the factory unit to be lame and would like to peronolize it with a better system but cannot find a face plate. Not sure if I want a huge hole in the dash.
Thanks
Steve

I listed info about a faceplate on the above post for you. That is however on a 96. I'm unfamiliar with any differences of a 92. On my 96, you must remove the center a/c vents to get to 2 screws, and remove the black piece at the very bottom of the radio just above the drink holder. There will be 2 more screws behind it. It should come out after these simple steps. Hope this helps.

thanks for that... i was starting to go nuts trying to find a way to take the stereo out.
Does the bottom plastic strip above the drinks holder just pull out or is there a certain way to pull that off without breaking it?
I was trying to pull it slightly but worried it would break
Thanks

I had a heck of a time gettin my middle air vents out on my 92 es, it took me forever, But it is just like he explained. About the face plate, i went to a local stero place in my town and they had one in stock, it was very unuasual for a place to have anything in stock for a lex. Good luck man
