Brake rotors
My rotors look like they are in need of a change due to rust. Is this common? Does it effect the performance of the brakes or merely the appearance of them? I am looking to buy and install some drilled brake rotors. Any suggestions and brands AND HOW TO INSTALL??????

it pretty common for the rotors to go rusty even after 24 hours. Though this will not effect the braking at all if you run your car around the block you should find the rust on the rotors will dissapear.
The hub usually goes rusty too... this is common in most cars and you should find this ok unless you have holes in it
I usually have my brakes done at the garage as they know more about ABS and I dont trust myself to get it right

If the rust in the rotors dont go away after you go around the block then you need rotors, they will warp and give a shimmy in the steering wheel while braking. If the outer edge of the rotor is rusted then thats normal. Good Luck!!

rust no longer
I ran across the post called "new wheels" and followed his recommendation (metallic silver High Temperature Rust-O-Leum). Sprayed it all over the rotor, caliper, and hub. I was freaked at first, but now I'm stoked. Calipers cut a clean circular line on the rotor and I have no rust. It's the bomb? Pics to follow.
