I was just wondering if anyone else have replaced their gas tank. Yesterday, a rock punctured the bottom of my gas tank and now its sitting at Stevenson Lexus. Their charging $980 for parts and labor to fix it. Does anyone know if that price is resonable? The parts alone they said cost about $600.

Prices sound about right from a Lexus dealership perspective. I remember helping my friend out with replacing the gas tank in his F150. He paid around $150 for the tank from a junkyard, and we did the whole job in his father's driveway. Worked out well and saved a ton of $$$

Replace it yourself (They're not hard to drop), go to Toyota, or find any halfway descent indy mechanic.
Quit going to Lexus if you even have to think about money. Common parts markup is 3-6x, Labor is 150-200%.

... Must have been good sized rock.
If it's at Lexus now, let them fix it. There may be an issue moving over or replacing the fuel pump and they would have any small parts, fuel hose or gaskets needed for the job at hand. As you didn't mention the mileage, you may wish to consider the fuel pump and fuel filter replacement.
Then there is the dealer warranty on the parts and labor.

Yeah, they said they had to replace gaskets and some hoses too. My dad was driving it when it happened and he just had them tow it to the Lexus dealership. Dammit there goes money that could have been spent on mods
.
On the bright side, we got a 2005 es330 as a loaner for the next few days

Yes, he was very lucky.
Well i just found out today that we just have to pay a $500.00 deductable and the insurance will pay the rest, and the best part is the insurance rate won't go up.
