add intake, loose power
can installing a intake actually make ur car loose power. cuz i installed a weapon r secret weapon intake to my 97 es300. and its good but the air filter makes sounds and maybe it feels like its leaking air somewhere LOL. i dont know but maybe its just me. i might just tighten everthing more. and does itconsume for gas and make the mpg go down?

i just added weapon r for my 94 es300 today and it did felt a slight different in accel. But supposely if you've custom the intake to fit under the engine near by left front bumper you would actually gain better performance because its sucking cold air from outside not the hot air from the engine itself. I did not do that cuz i was afraid of the fact that it might trap water from rain & damage my engine....
ya i've got the leaking air sound too...probably just the way thats set up..
uses up little more gas probably wont even be noticeble..
After all. probably stock Box filter is still a better setup though because lex set up their air filters with tunnels lead to the front bumper which receives cold fresh air. while weapon R sucks larger amount of air but hot air from the engine when the ECU senses it it just blocks them from coming in. unless you modify IAT sensor which am still trying to locate...
