I was talking to a friend of mine about the sc430 rims and he told me that if I got them I wouldn't need spacers unless I dropped my car too low. Am i correct in understanding that the spacers just increase the vertical distance between the wheel and the strut or shocks? Do the Tein S springs require me to purchase spacers or can I just not drop it as much. I'd like to drop it around stock height and keep the stock ride without spending too much on a new suspension setup. Any suggestions?

Also I was looking at some old posts about the sc430 rims, tiguy had this site posted, was it legit?

without spacers, the sc430 rims touch the rear struts. spacers go behind the wheel to push out the wheel towards the fender, clearing space for big brake kits or to fit wider wheels.

Dang dude! Its been a while since I posted that! lol I acutally got my springs off ebay for about 160 shipped. Just took forever to get them since they came from Japan directly I believe. Anyhow YES you do need spacers like Chris said other wise you'll be driving wondering why your car sounds like a bmx bike with a cardboard paper stick in the rear spokes

do the solora springs go in with the stock shocks without any other modifications? i read in some of the posts about replacing the strut mounts...??? is this only if yours are bad or do you need to replace them in order for the solora springs to fit?

has anyone ever had any experience with ksport coilovers on their 97-01 es300? will solora coilovers work for are es300's as well?

thanks

I'm assuming your ES is a 97-01 so with that said the Solara parts from the same year fit. The chassis codes are the same...only thing is if your ES is a 99 or above make sure you get the correct Solara parts...ex 99 ES get the 99-01 Solara spring or coilover set.

As for the strut mounts, if your car is getting up there milage wise, I think it'd be a great idea to replace those mounts as well. Right now they're people selling brand new KYB strut mounts for 78.00 a pair! I paid 110 for mine a month ago (Grrr)

New mounts are not required to make your springs fit but with new mounts you're guaranteed to have a solid and stable ride especially if yours were making noise like mine were (the annoying bogging/pinging sound when you hit bumps)
