hey i need help. i decided to upgrade my brakes by switching to hawk pads HPS i tried getting the rear installed first because my front rotors didnt come in yet so i change the rear rotors at a local shop and when it came time to put the brakes in the Hawk brake pad # HB401F.587 was what i got but the mechanic says it doesnt fit and is the wrong pad. I search on the manufacturer's website and its the right part number. i got the part from pepboys and they said it was the right one too. The mechanic showed me the pads that came off the car and the pad from the hawk and it was a major difference in size. Can someone chime in this? thanks! Any of you guy have hawk pads in the rear? Please help!

OK cool. Are yall sure you guys are clamping the brake piston back ALLLL the way??? (be sure to monitor brake res level, as pushing in calipers raises the level - many times past the point of knocking the top off & over-flowing)

Try our search engine ...
The RX and ES brake assemblies are about the same.
Use jack stands for your safety ... Never just a hydraulic jack
You'll need to remove the calipers and the retorque the bolts when replacing.

The rotor removal process was clearly stated in the link truongsta provided..
This step is universal on practically all cars with disc brakes, not just the Lexus ES.
You should see (2) 10-24 pitch threaded holes on the inner bolt circle of the rotor. You will need to find a couple bolts that will fit in those holes (e.g. 12 mm size) and force the rotor to come out.
