Cool

Toyota Type IV. You have no choice about it.
It's go 2 Toyota & buy that, or buy an even better, more expencive (which is a good idea) ATF, like AMSoil which meets TT-IV requirements.

I hear people say not to change the tranny fluid because it can mess up the clutch packs. I have yet to change mine (130,000 miles). Should I leave it alown or change it?

No, that's just what stupid mechanics that are f'ing old & untrustworthy tell you.

The more you change it, the better the clutches grab, the less they wear, the less crap floating in the fluid, the longer the solenoids, valve body parts & everything else lasts.

Always, without question.

Pheonix is right on - Type IV or much better (and be sure of it) - Not something that you can find in Walmart or Target I think.

The Sunoco mechanic told me that the Toyota Type-IV fluid is actually made by Mobil and known as 3309:

http://www.mobil.com/USA-English/Lub...l_ATF_3309.asp

As for DIY, it should be similar to an RX300 2wd since they share the same transmission:

Keep in mind, that the drain/fill does not replace all the fluid an To Flush or Not is a whole other topic you can read about.
