Cool

From 100% dry 4.8 quarts.
Pan + filter 4.1 quarts
Pan alone 3.9 quarts

I assume you're changing the oil filter at the same time. If you are, put in 4 quarts of oil, then start the engine and let it run for a minute. Turn it off and wait awhile to let the oil drain back into the crankcase, then check your dipstick. It should be close to the full mark. If it isn't, add a little oil(about half a quart), and recheck the levels once again.

Cool

The #1 answer is ya didn't drain out the oil.
Otherwise, the dipstick is just picking up oil. Drive it around & check it say 5-10 min after you park it.

Automatic transmission fluid - engine running in park
Engine oil - engine off and rested for fifteen minutes or more.
