Default Noise when steering wheel is turned

Hey guys

I discovered an interesting issue that only seems to arise in hot weather, and after driving quite a long distance. Twice now I've noticed an unusual rubber-against-rubber squeaking type of noise when I turn the steering wheel to the right, but only when the car is hot after a long trip. The sound is coming from inside the dash around the steering column. And it doesn't happen when I turn to the left. Once the car has cooled down for half an hour, no more noise. And for just normal driving in moderately warm weather, it's okay. The two times I've noticed it have been on very hot days after at least an hour or more of freeway driving.
I'm not too concerned about it but would like to know what it might be....any ideas?

probably the airbag spiral spring, (houses wires for airbag) allowes the airbag wires to spin with the steering wheel

try applying some rubber lubricant down at the base of the steering column where the firewall is. alot of times that makes strange noises over time.

I agree with 3rdelement...same thing happened on my 03 ES and added some lube and no more sounds.

By rubber lubricant, you mean something like 303 Aerospace, or Armor-all?
