Default 17" GS wheels on 95 ES300 ?

I know this has been touched on in the past, and I apologize. I just wanted to see if there was any updated information on this or if anyone has tried it. I am looking to take the oem 5 stars from my GS400 and put them on my 95 ES300. The wheels are 17x8 and I noticed that all of the sites call for a 17x7 or 17x7.5 for the ES. I saw a picture in the Windom picture thread of a ES with the GS wheels, does anyone know anything about that car? Great thread by the way. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Yes they will fit. However I would suggest getting a smaller width than the 235s on the GS 17. 225 max so 225/45/17.

As it is a RWD offset, rear tire wear will be bad.

I recommened trying a newer ES 330/350 17" wheel since its made for teh FWD ES

I put 17" GS400 wheels on my 92 ES. The front was fine but in the rear I had to put 1/4" spacers.

Hey thanks for the info guys, I'm going to try to get them on in the next few days. I think I have some spacers still hanging around if needed. Appreciate the help!

Ok, so I put the 17's on to see if I even liked the look, and truthfully I'm still unsure. The problem I'm having is that when I have someone in the back seat I'm hearing rubbing over large bumps. It really doesn't seem like it should be rubbing? Any thoughts? This is a winter car for us, and I'm just looking to find a few simple things to spruce it up a bit, and with summer coming to an end I need to buy tires for which ever wheels are going to stay. Here's a quick pic.

i like that look! roll the rear fenders and lower it to complete the look. i was going to put those wheels in chrome from my brother's GS on my ES but i decided to go with the SC430 18's instead.

This could very well be the problem the tires are 235/45/17's and it looks like Tire Rack recommends 215/50/17's. esdoubleO, what size are you running?

I have 215/45r17 and have no problems at all,I think 225/45r17 tires would be find too but I'm not sure. I do know for sure that 215/50r17 would rub the fender in the rear.
