Default AC Problem

Earlier today i was driving down a very terrible road. It was mostly pot holes and loose gravel. The reason I was driving down that perticular road was to look for a part and I ended up with my car worse than what it was. I wasnt driving fast or crazy but was trying to avoid all the bumps. I hit one a pot hole pretty hard and suddenly my air con went dead like completely shut off. I dont know what went wrong and was wondering has any one experienced this before or know of anything related to The lights are on for the ***** but nothing works as far as the air con.

Could you have knocked a fuse out of its slot perhaps?

In the fuse box in the engine or under the dash, both boxes have a schematic of which fuses power the car's accessories. Look for a fuse that says a/c. My guess is that its one of the higher voltage fuses - one of the bigger fuses. And most likely its in the fusebox in under the hood rather than under the dash. Switch it with a fuse like it and turn on the a/c. If the a/c works, then you'll know to replace the old a/c fuse with a new one.

I went through my lexus owner's manual and came across no fuses for the A/C, It did mention if the compressor went out for the A/C, it would be indicated on the instrument cluster but no light has appeared. The only thing visible is where the climate controls are located is the clock, nothing else works. It is very hott where i live so id like to figure out whats wrong with is quick anyhelp is welcomed!

So you're saying the entire climate control isn't working? No air control at all? If thats the case then it's got to be a fuse somewhere.

And as to the light in the instrument cluster, maybe the lightbulb is just burnt out...

Might be time to have the freon pressures checked....

Are there any oily areas, indicating an A/C compressor oil leak on the front for the condensor, just ahead of the radiator? The oil leaks out with the freon if there is a rock hole in the condensor.
