by the way, i am a noob to the 01 es300 and i had a few questions for all those vets..
1) are there front projector headlights available for this model? or are the standard headlight good enough to run hid bulbs sufficiently? and how much do they projector headlights cost?

2) is there a navigation option for 00-01 models? price?

3) what are the differences between those es300's with wood grain steering wheels and the ones without woodgrain steering wheels? is it part of a option package or what?

sorry for all the questions. but i cant help to be excited from this purchase. upgrading from a honda del sol and such

by the way zidane is a little beast with his headbutt huh?! looked like a dinasaur from jurassic park when he pulled that stunt .. zidane = velociraptor

Welcome to ClubLexus Nick. Congrats on your recent ES purchase. It really feels like buying a totally brand new car, doesn't it?

To answer your questions, you can get the owner's manual for your car by either calling 1-800-25-LEXUS or go online at http://www.lexus.com. There is no charge for the manual.

The owner's manual says that 87 Octane rated gas is recommended, but I usually put in 89 when I fill up. Some people recommend putting in 91 or 93 rated gas, but that's really up to your preference. There are those who say that putting in higher rated gas makes no difference in terms of fuel economy, and there are those who deny the claim. I could go on and on, but that's pretty much the short end of the stick.

Rims are up to you and how much you feel like spending. If you're planning on upgrading your wheels, you should do some wise research on wheel and tire fitments and be certain that your suspension and brake parts will not be at risk when installing bigger tires and wheels. Things like wheel spacers and fender rolling may be necessary to overcome that risk.

As far as I know, there are no available projector-style headlights that will fit in your ES, but it is possible to retrofit a set of projector lights from another car (say a BMW) to your stock headlamps. Only thing is, this involves a lot of drilling and mechanical know-how to make it work. tiguy99 has successfully done it to his '99 ES, so you can send him a PM (private message) if you like to get more info on this project.

There is no navigation option for the '00-'01 ES.

The wood steering wheel was an option that was part of a Lexus package (don't recall the name of it). It sounds like you have the same setup as mine, except I have ivory seats and heated seats.

Hope my answers help out in some way. And if you get a chance, play around with the forum search engine. You'll be delighted to see a wealth of knowledge that's been carried around this forum for a long time, and it's a good place to start if you need answers to a certain question you have about your car.

IS330? There's only IS300, 250, and 350... 330? Im not sure about that...maybe you were talking about the IS300 or the newly designed IS350

If you wanna run HID, just swap some headlights ~n~ bulbs from the Platinum Series (maybe even the harness too?). If you do a plug ~n~ play using your original headlights, there could be problems like scattered light or poor beam patterns. Yea, the Platinum series lights will be expensive. Shop around, you might find a good deal.
