Default Goodbye, ES300

Well, i'm officially saying goodbye. I just sold my 96 ES with 131,000 miles. I've had it for one year and 12,000 miles; it served me pretty well aside with a few regular glitches ofcourse (y-pipe, o2 sensor, cv boot, rear main seal, etc.) . And while i enjoyed the smoothness and the quietness, i just couldn't take all the other lexus owners thinking they're better than everyone else (not most people in this forum, mind you), the buick-like suspension, and just a flat out fun factor of 0. So, I took the plunge, and my new daily driver is a gorgeous red mazda miata! that's right, i traded a lexus in for a mazda and this car can only be described in one word: FUN! Relentless, unbearable FUN. This is my new love. So, thank you for the wonderful help that you guys offered me in this forum, and thank you for the support. Goodbye everyone, and i'm off to the miata forums!

oh, and if you dont know what a miata looks like, follow this link:

I wish you lots of fun and minimum mech troubles. I think that we sometimes need to try different styles of rides at different phases of our lives. Perhaps your next step will be the new Lexus IS convertible coupe ( IC ??). It should be sporty, have a hard convertible top, and Lexus luxury and reliability. .....

If i could afford the sc convetible, i would have gotten it over the miata. But the miata will have to do for now it's an awesome ride, and not as rough as you might think

Cool

Miata's are fun. And ultra reliable when taken care of. And ya, for what the car is, they don't ride poorly. They're not like driving an old triumph, MG, or vette LoL! The dampening is good.

I'm with ya element. Compairing a Lexus priced anything against a used miata? LoL! Missing the point guys!

Its not what we drive that matters, nor is it the logo on the trunk. All that matters is that we're happy with what we'ge got.

Pheonix, i think you should test drive a 5-speed miata. the shifter is simply excellent and the engine just begs to be revved. At that point, i think that i'd see you leave the civic forum and enter the (turbo) miata forums lol.

and if you wait until september, you can get a great deal on one. I got my red '94 (1.8 liter, torsen LSD, +garaged winters) with 65,000 miles for $4,500. It could have probably found one for 4k if i would have waited

Cool

Brandon does hmt. It's mostly honda, but all encompassing.
Trust me... I <3 miata.net & RX7club among other places. I also have always loved driving miatas. I was wanting a 94 w' LSD too!? I'm just so afraid I would own a miata for about two weeks & already be putting a manifold for it together LoL! It'd been a new clutch, I'd wind up having to put an rx-7 gearbox & rear end in it. It'd be an endless project car!
But... Atleast with a Miata, they can be good long term project cars!

You just traded your Lexus for a chick car. If we only knew what we were doing by picking on you we would have stopped immediately. Dont they have fourteen inch wheels?
