Suspension question
So I was taking a turn into a parking lot at my workplace, and at the entrance of the lot there is a sidewalk bump that is kinda like a speed bump but not shaped enough to look like it. I see a lot of cars would slow down when going over the bump, but this time I decided to drive a little faster (since I had a late lunch). When I went over the sidewalk bump at faster-than-normal speed, I felt a "grinding" sensation on the brake pedal as I applied the brake after going over the bump and into the parking lot. I don't believe this has to do with my brake pads or the brake system, but is it possible that my front spring(s) could be losing its integrity and compression? FYI I have an '01 ES w/ 125,600 miles, and I believe all 4 springs are factory original. The struts have been replaced a while ago.

your ABS/TRAC control may have engaged as the wheel bounced. It might have lost enough traction when it bouced. I get this sometimes in my hospital's parkign garage. They have been repaving and there are some surface changes. When going downhill and hitting a change, the bounce was enough that I felt the characteristic pulsation in the pedal for an instant.

ABS will engage whenever you are stepping on the brake pedal and one of the wheels slows at a quicker rate than the others, exactly as you described. Nothing in your springs or front suspension should cause that kind of sensation.
