![Question](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/icons/icon5.gif)
I find that my 95 es 300 takes a bit longer to idle down at start up than my Camry did. One thing I don't like is how hard it jumps into gear. It wont do this once it reaches operating temp though. I suppose I could sit and wait for long periods of time. The only problem with that is I dont have any time to spare. The fluid appears clean and is full. What can I do?
Has anyone else encountered this situation? Any suggestions along the lines of maintenance or repair would be greatly appreciated.

It's normal partly due to higher idle speeds and a cold engine/transmission. Just take it easy for a few miles until the coolant temp gauge shows closer to normal. I just really wish the transmission wouldn't hold 2nd gear forever when engine's cold......
On seriously cold days, I might let the car warm up for about 30-45 seconds before driving off. But don't overdo it cuz otherwise you're wasting gas and time.

I just purchased the vehicle about a month ago. The previous owner was faithful in having the Lexus dealer do all of the scheduled maintenance. I don't like changing fluids when they appear clean and smell normal. Maybe I should just flush and go with a compatible synthetic tranny fluid. Thanks Tammy.
