Transmissions on the 02+ are ****ty, you're most likely going to have alot of work done to it sooner or later. I have the same problem in my 2000 though. I back up my driveway, and then carefully switch it into drive....BAM car lurches forward! I don't know if the first gear is wacked out or something, but in every car i've owned, theres usually a fraction of a second where you can roll back when you just put it in drive, then go...I have literally .00000001 second and it CLUNKS into drive and then I go. I feel as if this is doing something real bad to my car. Anyone, tips??

see, i think it has something to do with the tranny also but its not a "shift" clunk. like shift into 1st hear a clunk, shift into park u hear a clunk.... its not that. clunk might not even be the right wording. it might be more like a scraping sound. it doesnt effect the tranny at all either. the tranny seems "ok" (i say that cause its an 02+ tranny) and shift ok with only the occasional "not finding the gear right" 02+ problem. since having it aligned tho, it only happens about once per 3 or 4 times compared to ever start up before it. Im going to go to Inskip lexus on Tuesday the 31st so i guess well see whats up! Thing is, it started around when i got the system reflashed so im thinking it might have something to do with it.

welp, ive still not made it to the dealer yet. my car got hit and is waiting for a new rear bumper and right rear tail lamp. also drivers side rear door and trunk all have dings in them now also. wonderful seeing i just had 3000 in work done
