I have an intermittent problem. Sometimes when I start the car, I can't shift out of park into reverse. Anyone else have this happening? I drive a 2000 es300 with 43k miles on it.

Pull the cover off & hit the lockout switch. Make sure the brake light switch is working & clean the contacts of that stuff.
There's something else u can do, but it escapes me for the moment.

Thanks for the information. I don't feel that I can do these things, but it prepares me to talk to the mechanic. I appreciate your input.
