Rough acceleration ES300 1997 ?? help!
hi all,
has anyone experienced a rough acceleration on the ES300 ? i have about 200k km and have done tune ups, rad flush, air filter, change tranny oil but when I press on the gas it usually takes a few seconds before a burst of power comes through and it feels loud and rough (roar). the gas pedal feels a bit heavy when i press on it. My wife's 94 Camry V6 runs faster and smoother than my Lexus! I just touch her gas pedal lightly and it goes fast.
i've read all the older posts and I don't have any engine light on so I didn't think of changing the O2 sensors. don't wanna take to dealer since they will rape you. any suggestions is greatly appreciated.

Your post suggests a clogged exhaust component, perhaps a catalytic converter.
Are you sure the Check engine lamp works?
It could be anything from a bad head gasket to a plugged fuel filter causing a problem with the fuel pump. Any one of several ECM's.
Whether you take it to a dealer or an independent (rape or not), you'll need to put it on an analysis machine to determine where you're loosing the power.
