Question 98 ES still headlights not bright

I have done everything to clean my headlights and make them brighter even brought the car to the Lexus dealer. They cleaned the headlights inside and out and changed the bulbs I think. I also had them put in a new battery. The light are brighter, but still not bright. I posted picks below. 2 pics with ES lights off showing that the lenses are clean and another pic with lights on how yellow they seem. I posted a third pic of my other car because the light appears very clear, white and bright and thats the way they I want them to be. Also this way I know its not the camera changing the light to make them look yellow. Anyone have any other ideas? Or are all ES lights like that?

Thanks

When I get my nokya jdm yellows and titanium whites ill get some pictures and show you what they look like. Not sure what temp their beams are at but hopefully it's a step up from my stock bulbs. These things are probably 20w hahaha I can hardly see anything EVER in the dark

that yellow bothers me the most.. Try silvania's silverstar bulbs. I remember many members here used'em and were very happy with their white bright beams..

I did not order Bi Xenons, I think they are a good set of quality halogen bulbs. Also I don't recommend ordering HIDS on Mercedes; I did on my ML320 and they turned out to be handful of trouble they burnt out twice within a six year period. But since Mercedes moved to Bi- Xenon type where the light is contained in a projector sized bulb I have heard they are more reliable. Too bad the option is very expensive; so I did not think it was worth ordering especially with my previous experience. ML320 = Very Bad Build Quality Never Again.

Question Installing Sylvania Silver stars?

Hey Sylvania Silver Star sounds like a good idea. But does anyone know how to install it? How do I take the cover off the headlight to put them in on a 98 ES? Is it hard? I usually bring my car to the dealer from low tire pressure to the check engine light. But if someone can write up some good directions I could probably do it and I would really appreciate it.

Thanks

IMO low classifications of any mercedes are sub-par in quality now. I've had many friends with them and they all seem to fall apart so keep that in mind. I love my es I got, nothing wrong with it other than regular maint. but I'll definetly keep it for a long long time, just need to get alittle more $$ so I can throw some suspension and wheels on the bad boy. Wheels are tough to find that aren't extremely expensive though :-\ good luck with everything and I'll post up what the lights look like tomorrow night after I get them all put in!

This is my first Toyota/ Lexus I bought it used, but so far it seems pretty reliable. Though sometimes the front suspension makes a noise like something is loose when going over bumps.

"I've had many friends with them and they all seem to fall apart so keep that in mind"

I know the that first hand my ML320 only lasted 67,000 miles before it began needing major overhauls. Also thats when the warranty ended so I traded it in. I Personally think something with the Daimler Chrysler merger affected the reliable; maybe new management. My 1993 Mercedes got to 150,000 miles before the car began falling apart.

To bad Lexus doesn't make a ES350 with all wheel drive.

integra, have you tried using Meguiar's Scratch-X or Plast-X applicator on your headlights. Either of them should yield awesome clarity on your headlights, and should remove most or all of the yellowing and haze on the exterior surface. This is a terrific tool to use for cleaning your headlights
