Default 2000 ES300 With 117K, Still Reliable?

I know how reliable ES300's are, thats not what I'm asking. But 117K miles on a 2000 car seems to be pretty damn high. Do you think the car is still perfectly reliable for another 100K miles?

Cool

I think it should be fine. If you could I would bring it to the local Lexus dealer to look over the whole car. Thats what I did it cost about $150 to $250. I think they call a some number point inspection. Also check the ball bearings by turning the wheel all the way to the left and right making sure this rubber looking boot is securely attached to the joint also do it to the left. I would also check for engine sludging. Oh yeah the Lexus dealers keep service records of all vehicles serviced no matter which dealer as long as it is a Lexus dealer. I would request those to printed out by a service adviser. I would then go through them and make sure nothing strange has been fixed. ie "repaired front frame tips." That usually means the car has been in an bad accident and the frame has been bent. DO A TEST DRIVE and drive for at least 20 min, braking hard and smooth, do the same when accelerating and listen for weird noises.

You should be able to put many many miles on Toyota Lexus cars before they break. So I would not be to worried, just check to make sure the car is well maintained. And highway miles would be fine as the road is smooth and when cruising the car can drop into overdrive and run at a lower RPM preventing engine wear.

I also have a 2000 ES300 and just recently hit 120k miles. It still drives and rides like a dream. I had the major tune up done at 95k miles and thats about it. So far, nothing has gone wrong with it. I'm pretty sure that with good maintenance, it will last 200k at least.

I wouldnt seem why it wouldnt be. It might have electrical problems sooner or later down the roads and little squeaks and stuff, but as far as starting everytime you turn the key and getting you from point A to B in confort there should be no doubts.
