Engine replacement- JDM or 96 ES 300?
I am looking at possibly replacing the engine in my 92 ES 300. As I see it I have 2 options.. Use a JDM engine.... How are they? Advisable to use?
Or, I have access to a not-badly rear-ended 96 that a guy is parting out. I was considering use that. But someone said those engines were not very good, less power than the 92 3VZFE. Is that true? The guy who has it tells me it has more than the 92 not less.
Or, should I hold out and continue looking for another 92/93/94 3VZFE here in the states? If anyone has any recommendations on where to get one please let me know! I have checked most of the yards around here and don't find any.
Thanks!

Putting a 1mz-fe into a non 1mz-fe platform requires changing the engine, the entire wiring harness, along the transmission & differential.
Stay with a 3vz-fe. Get one where ever you can. Just make sure it's gaurenteed not to be blown up when you get it. My local user end pull-a-part has two 92-93 es 300's right now. Wierd.

Beep Beep Auto Parts in Tucson Has one I believe, think its out of a 94.. not positive but pretty sure. If you do decide to get it let me know.. might be able to get it alittle cheaper. the car is stripped, but I think they still have the motor cause it was pulled when they got it.
