I have bought a new antenna mast off Ebay but am unsure of how to get the old one out to install it. I don't want anything to go wrong, since this is my first attempt at tinkering with anything but replacing a flat.

When you take the old mast out be sure to get all of the pieces of your old mast out before you install the new one or your new mast won't retract all the way. You'll want to have someone turn the radio on while you hold the mast and start to feed it down into the reel. Once it catches on the gears it will retract on its' own obviously. I've replaced 2 and it's no big deal but whatever you do - make sure you have ALL of the pieces of the old mast out of the motor before you install the new mast.
