Default Need an opinion on buying a ES300

I currently own a 1999 Buick Regal GS with a 3800 supercharged V6. This car has a bad transmission, so I'm looking for a different car. I found a 1997 Lexus ES300 for $7,750. It has 127,000 miles on it. There are no dents on the car from what I can see. There are a few minor things wrong with it.... the heated seats do not work, 3 of the 4 cupholders are broken, and the radio display is messed up. I guess the thing that would bug me most is the heated seats.... is this an easy fix? Does this seem like a good deal?

not a good deal at all...keep looking around. My parents bought their 97 es300 about 2 years ago for 8500 with only 70k miles on it. Be patient and keep looking. You don't want to rush it and end up with a problem car.

i just got my 01 es300 with 73k miles for 12,500... the only bad on it is the driverside side mirror has spots on it, the cruise control isnt working, minor dings (dent wizard took care of it for $120), and that it needed to be retinted (got it done this past weekend).

try autotrader.com and craigslist.org

This car has no dents and no paint fading at all. It's pearl white with the beige/silver second tone. The leather is flawless also. NADA quotes this car's average retail value to be $8,450. I tried the heated seats myself and they didn't seem to get hot as my Buick's did. Maybe they do work, I just didn't give them long enough to heat up.

I got mine just a month ago on cars.com. I got a 00 ES300 Platinum Edition Black with 88k for $9,300.00. This car is like perfect, everything works, only a small dent that you can barely notice. My advise is to look for an individual seller, much cheaper than what you get from dealer. Shop around, don't rush. DON"T RUSH!!!!!!

I got a 94' es300 for $3,600, has 130,000 miles, minor wear on leather, small spots of wear on paint, and brake hose needed to be changed. Besides that the car is in perfect condition, i think it was a real good deal lol. you should look around more man iv seen a lot of good deals on es300's. private sellers would be good too cuz alot of them are willing to lower their prices a little. good luck on the car hunt.

Honestly, i love it. i love the sound it gives the car, it makes it seem more aggresive instead of the quiet little purr from the stock es300 engine. and its pretty cool cuz if you accelerate real hard then release the acceleration it sounds like a turbo , fool a lot of ppl that way. gave my car a lil HP gain but not much, and it increased my gas mileage at first but it got worse later cuz since i love the sound of the intake i floor it any chance i get and drive it real hard . id recommend it to anyone .

Default 97 ES 300 98K mi

Like the rest of the CL members who have responded, I also suggest that you look around. We got our fully stock 97 ES 300, Black on Grey with 98K miles for $7K in late Aug 06. Had to do the 90K mi, fuel injector which I believe is still a great deal. Take your time; good luck.
