Hi folks!
I want to replace my stock Bridgestone Turanzas with some new tires.
Any suggestions on brand? Any tire retailers you like?
I prefer to keep the stock size, I'll do lower profile when I get an IS.

I think I paid about $132 per V rated tire, includes mounting, balance, and new stems. The protection plan was another $20 each. Include the 4 wheel alignment and disposal of old tires; I walked out just under $700.
Mind you, it did take my Michelin dealer a week to get the Exaltos in because they were fairly new to the market. Most Michie dealers should have ample access now.

Steve, btw I installed the spoiler and black pearl emblems on my ES looks pretty nice. I will post up pictures.
Another alternative to the michelin that I got was yokohama avid V4. They are very quite and handle pretty nicely. They do not squeak at all when pushed like the turanza's. Has an semi aggressive tire design and best of all it has a rim protector. Lots of solid reviews on this tire on tirerack. On the other hand you can not go wrong with the michelin either.

The latest 11/06 Consumer Reports has a comprehensive review of the Performance All Seasons (H & V ratings) and Peformance Winter tires that you may want to look at since it rates tires on Dry Braking, Wet Braking, Handling, Hydroplaning, Rolling Resistance, Snow Traction, Ice Braking, Ride, Noise and Tread Life. Here are the top 5 for each speed rating:
H-Rated
1. Dunlop SP Sport5000
2. Michelin Pilot Exalto A/S
3. Falken Ziex ZE512
4. Continental ContiProContact
5. Michelin Pilot XGT H4
V-Rated
1. Michelin Pilot HX MXM4
2. Yokohama Avid V4s
3. Michelin Pilot Exalto A/S
4. Continental ContiProContact
5. Falken Ziex ZE512
I should mention I have the Falken Ziex tires on 3 of my cars the past 3 years and I won't use them again because their sidewalls flex too much and their manufacturing quality control is not the best in the world. On one car, I went thru a total of 11 new tires to find 4 perfect ones since all the others seemed to have off-centered belt thus causing the car to pull to one side (the alignment was fine). Suggest you stay with the named brands like Michelin, Also, even if your car comes with V rated tires, you can switch to the H rating with no problems at all and in fact likely will give you a slightly better tread life. This is just my experience.
