on the es 300 what would be the best tires for comfort on 18' rims. I was thinking 235/40/18. What brands do u suggest. I want to keep the ride as a lexus would provide without the road noise. What other tire sizes would u suggest.

you have two sizes that fit: 235/40-18 or 225/45-18. The former has far more tires to choose from. The former size will also bump slightly when you have adults in the back seat and you hit a bump. I have been running that size from May to October for the past 3 years.
I can totally say the best 18 inch tire I have ridden on for rain and dry pavement as well as a super smooth and ultra quiet ride is the Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3

I paid about $212 each at a local dealer. That included balance, mounting and new chrome valve stems. Unfortunately the protection plan for any tire above a V rating is 25% of the price of the tire, so that added the price of a fifth tire to the total. However, I think they are worth every penny.
