My wife has a '94 ES3 w/ 96k miles and for some unknown reason, the power antenna mast keeps getting stuck halfway every few years. She has already replaced 3 of them and she's getting tired of getting that fixed again at the Lexus dealer. I looked thru all the tips offered thru this website but can't find any details on how to replace the mast from the outside without removing the whole motor from the inside. I pulled the existing antenna out and there are two wires attached to the inside which are snaked inside the car. The local AutoZone has a replacement mast for $20 or a whole power antenna unit for $40. Have any of you used an aftermarket (non Lexus) part like this? Any advice you guys can provide on the repair details would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Be honest with you. I've never run across anyone that has. Maybe somebody will own up.
*Normally* what happens is people search & find out the differance between a Camry & ES mast is that the ES is 2 position (half staff for low bands, tall for high) while the camry is just down up.They see the price differance. They run to Toyota & buy the Camry unit LoL!
There's also the S2000 conversion.
AND you can install an internal antenna & shave the thing clean.
