Default motor q's

I blew a head gasket, getting that replaced is a tad bit expensive so I'm going to buy a new motor, the haynes manual for the camry gives alot of information but i would like to talk to someone that has done it before and know common problems etc.

The head gaskets will blow on the new motor too, unless you managed to get one with low miles.

Cool

Yeah you better check / replace all those gaskets on the used engine. You better check the radiator & anything coolant related on both engines before you wind up with another blown head gasket!

Cool

They're completely different blocks. The coolant routing on the truck 3.4L 5vz-fe is also different, so you can't use 3vz-fe heads on a 5vz-fe block either.
Displacement isn't that important. It only provides a linear gain in power. It wouldn't be worth enouhg power to be worth the effort. It's not like a retarded american v8 where you can take something that starts @ 5.4L then magically add 20% displacement to it without even trying.
