Side mirrors

Until recently my mirrors havent given me problems but now when I brake or am traveling on the highway my mirrors will move in and out on their own? do i need to replace them or is there anything i can do?

3 choices;
- get new ones...
- go the the junk yard
- get small block of foam or something and put it behind it so it supports it, so it wont flip in and out (cheap innovative idea!)
