Default alarm bugging out

hello everyone.
So my 2001 es300 has been a pleasure with no issues that have bothered me, up until recently (the past 2 weeks).
My alarm is unresponsive and i do not know why.
when i try to hold down my trunk opener it no longer will open my trunk. soemtimes when i try to use the unlock it will not even respond. and if it does, it is after multiple tries. AND it will only unlock once, so i cannot unlock all 4 doors by hitting it twice. It really is frustrrating.
the most respomsive of the buttons on the remote key is the lock.
lock function will work best of the 3 features but still isnt as responsive as it should be

the alarm was working just fine up until about 2 weeks ago.

i do not think it should be the battery because each time i press any key the red light will respond on the key remote itself.

the car is less than 40,000 miles as well.

thank you for reading and for your support. es300 drivers

Try putting a new battery in your key remote. Even though the indicator light works, the battery can still be weak. This is the cheapest way to test out your system before you go further.

Try a different key, if you have one.

A starter battery disconnect sometimes resets the alarm ECM back to normal.

Same thing happened to my ES when i first got it. Red light would come on, but it wouldn't unlock or lock when I pushed the button on the key. Get a new battery for it first and go from there. Easy tes/fix for less than 2 dollars.
