I can't find a code or anything in the manual as well as I can't find a code with all my Lexus material. SInce you are also asking, maybe there isn't one? Can others with the OEM radio on a '98 es300 confirm or set us straight? I am thinking of switching out the battery and don't want to be stuck with a dead radio afterwards.

I think I found our answer

would still like someone who has changed out the battery to confirm this though

i have changed out the battery on my 2000 ES300 and I did not need to enter a security code. BUT I have not yet DISCONNECTED the radio, which I plan to do soon to take care of the backlighting bulbs in the AC cluster. I'm worried that even despite the thread pkchin references above, I may have to enter a code...not sure if anyone can confirm..on a search, there doesn't seem to be a clear answer for a 2000 ES300? Anyone?

check your owner's manual. it's VERY clear.

because you disconnected the battery, you would have been asked for it, if applicable, upon reconnection.
