Dome fuse
Just wanted to pass along this information. Hadn't noticed anything unusual until I decided to pop the trunk on my '96 ES300. Then tried to lock doors with remote key to no avail. Tried to figure out which fuse had blown. After it got dark, I noticed the dome light wouldn't work, so I pulled the 20-amp fuse marked dome from the fuse panel under the hood and, sure enough, it was blown. Didn't have a spare 20-amp, so I put in a 15-amp until I can get a replacement. Everything's back to normal.

I was hoping the blown fuse was a one-time anomaly, but I couldn't be that lucky. I've got a short somewhere that is blowing fuses as soon as the battery is hooked up. Any ideas on what might be causing it? That fuse controls door locks, security system, dome light, light around ignition.
Any help would be appreciated before I start taking door panels off to check the door locks. Again it's a '96 ES300.
Thanks,
Rainman

UPDATE:
Located the short. It was in the vanity mirror light in the driver's side visor. Guy who did some upholstery work on the back seat told me to check it because the visor is worn out and won't stay up. He'd had it happen on a Volvo.
Anyway, visor has been removed. Any ideas on where to find a driver's side visor for a '96 ES300. I saw a visor for a '97 ES300 on eBay for $69 plus $12 shipping. Looks like the same visor. Anybody have an idea where I can find out what year models that visor fits?
Thanks,
Rainman
