Default Tranny problems in 97-01?

Hmm, I have been driving lately, and the tranny in my 00 is very odd. Normally in cars you will have a second or so of free motion when you go from reverse to drive, but when I put it into drive, the car wants to roar forward. Same with being at stop signs/lights etc. Also when at a complete stop, I can feel something almost grinding or something on my feet. It's not a strong feeling but when sitting alone I notice it. Is there something in the tranny that makes it so it has so much power? Don't really understand this, it's starting to **** me off real bad. Anyone else have this problem with lurching forward from anything to drive?

We need more info to see if there's any indication of abnormal tranny behavior. For example, do you notice any signs of mis-shifting when upshifting or downshifting while driving in the city and/or highway? Have you checked your tranny fluid to see if the fluid is dark colored (bad) or cherry red (good)?

68k...shouldn't be any problems at all! Say I go up my driveway(reverse out) and aim the direction desired. After coming to a COMPLETE stop, I put it into drive, and LURCH the car clunks into drive! Even if it's revvin 1k! Pretty much an idle. Shifting is seemless it's just when putting it into drive! WTF

Try putting it in neutral for a second then into drive. It also could be you have a brake problem where either the caliper is not letting go or you have a pad dragging

No, it's got nothing to do with brakes. When I put it into drive, it CLUNKS forward such as the tranny is putting too much power out when it's in first gear. Anyone have any tips?

I'd say flush the fluid first. I'm actually having a decent amount of tranny problems with my car too... I'm a little below 76k miles.

I have the same problem you do, plus I also have problems with it not downshifting to first when I stop at a stop sign (I do complete stops by the way), a few times it's been in Drive and I sit there and rev it, sometimes it doesn't upshift, sometimes it doesn't downshift... *sigh*

Cool

Flush the fluid. If it still doesn't work add another quart of fluid. If it still doesn't work. Unless you're pulling a line pressure solenoid code - It's on it's way out.
