Default Problem with sterio LCD panel

I own my ES300 for 8 years ['98] recently I noticed the Sterio LCD panel is blank [or close to blank with some 000]. If I change the CD # or radio channel I don't see which CD or Channel I am listning to.

Is it a quick fix or I have to take it to the dealer and prepared for some expensive fix?

Can anyone help me out?

Another thing is I am planning to buy Lexus SUV from Ebay. Can you share any experience on that?

Thanks a lot.

it's a really common problem with our cars. every ES i see has the same problem. if you search for radio lcd there's a fix that costs around 150 i think.
