2001 projector retrofit
Anyone ever try doing a retrofit to a 97-2001 es300. I was planning on installing some A4 projectors into my 2001 reflector headlights. (lowbeams) Maybe even do my highbeams, since I never turn them on at night. (Only used as driving lights during the day). This way, I would have way too much light at night time.

I think projectors are a MUST on all cars cuz its 10x brighter and doesn't glare so it doesn't bother drivers on opposite side and personally love the color fading line on the cut offs.
If you take time, be careful and know what you're doing, i say go for it... I am very happy with mine. It turned out looking factory, the cut offs are amazing and the brightness is off the hook.

Thanks for the referral, ChrisES. Stock OEM HIDs are reflector type and only emit light so far. Plus, the cutoff line is not sharp (a little fuzzy) and they almost look like high beams. A friend of mine has a '98 gs400 with HID reflectors. The light output is great at very short distance, but average when traveling at speeds over 30mph. I have an HID aftermarket plug n play kit on my stock halogen headlights right now. Was happy with the light the first 2-3 days, but it just isn't to be. That is the reason for the projector retrofit.

I've read in a few different places on the internet that the audi A6,A4, acura tsx, and honda s2000 are the best projectors to do a retrofit with. Small size and nice projection beam with good flicker. I found a good write up on a projector retrofit project with quality step by step pics and instructions.http://www.geocities.com/jvxdriver/a6_retrofit.htm
