9005 or 9006 which is the right bulb for the headlights
#2
Um,, not to be mean,, but the easiest way to find out is to either (a.) pull the old bulb since you have to replace anyway,,or (b.) go to store like Pepboys, autozone and look it up on the guide which should be in the aisle with the headlight bulbs. In the worse case scenerio, look in your owners manual. Know for a fact that that information is listed in there.

9006 is the low beam 9005 is the high. It's common to melt (or grind) one tab off a 9005 bulb & use it inplace of a 9006. They have another 10w, and give a wider light distrobution pattern because they have an open tip instead of foil coated.
It's not like much better than normal, but it is an improvement for no cost.

Wow! I thought you had to actually grind off the light housing its self! This won't melt the b/c of the higher wattage? I'm considering either superwhite 9006 for low beam or doing the 9005 mod with silverstar bulbs.

I went on ebay to look for super white replacement bulbs from nokya. I'm kinda confused b/c the package says 55W draw and 80 W light output. Is it 55 or 80!!! If it is 55W, then I'm going to buy the super white 9005 and modify it to fit.

I've seen them tested. They're bull****. They bearly draw 40w.
Stick with a low end Sylvania bulb. Brightest you can buy.
