Default Mobil 1 0w-30 Oil

I saw this oil in an auto parts store and it says it's for extreme driving conditions like lots of stop and go, High temp areas and Low temp areas. Does anyone know anything about it. I've never heard of 0w-30.

I used to use Mobil 1 0-w 30 in my Mustang Cobra. I never had any problems using it. I read it was supposed to help your performance because its a 0 weight therefore allowing your recriprocating parts to move more freely. I don't know about the protection level. Someone on here said that synthetic may leak and cause head problems. What oil are you using now?

well I used castrol 10W-30 and i wasn't happy with it. I just got my oil change and spent the extra money on a case of the 0W-30 and my car seems to run better. Feels smoother. Maybe it's me but that's what it feels like. I have read on here that Synthetic might leak but it seems that the majority prefers synthetic. I'll check for leaks though, but i think I really like this one.

the w in 0w-30 means winter. the oil acts like a 0 weight when you first start the car...this is beneficial for extreme colds, but when it's warmed up, it transforms into a 30 weight. 30 is generally good for stop and go, 40/50 is good for extreme durations at high speeds. the first number...0w, 5w, 10w...doesn't matter at all except for when you start the car.
