![Question](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/icons/icon5.gif)
I have an aftermarket audio system installed consisting of a 2000 watt amp pushing 2 12" Kicker CVR's. If my system is plugged in for too long sometimes when I go to start my car nothing happens. If I pop my hood and disconnect my system and wiggle the battery I get power back so I don't think it is the battery or else I wouldn't get the power back...I thought that it was the terminal cables connecting to the battery so I replaced them and I have had better results with the connection and have not lost complete power yet...however it still drains the battery easily...do any of you know what I can do to prevent my battery from draining so quickly?..Thanks!!!

You have a 90amp alt that only makes about 40-50amps @ 2000-3000rpm trying to supply about 40-50 amps to run the car, plus another 190-200amps to run just your subwoofer amp.
No **** you can't keep power to the car! LoL!
You don't even have close enough power & power supply for that kind of power draw.
1) Do an alt swap
2) Install an auxillary deep-cycle battery in the trunk
3) Upgrade the "big 3" wires in the car
You'll want to do all 3 of those. Otherwise you might aswell get use to buying batteries every few weeks/months, or just go ahead & ditch that setup.
You also could have mis-wired the amp<s> or head unit & they're drawing power with the car off. Which would accellerate the problem.
