Default ES330 Reliability

Hello,

I own an RX300...I am looking for a midsize sedan and have narrowed the search to the Acura TL or the ES330....What are the MAJOR issues with the ES330 from your perspective??

Thanks in advance!!!!

I've never owned nor driven an ES330 or TL, but I can tell you from many car reviews and customer testimonials I've encountered that the ES wins hands-down over the TL in terms of luxury, reliability and quality. If any of these criteria meet your needs, then get the ES; you won't be disappointed. Definitely take the ES and the TL for a test drive before you make your purchasing decisions. Good luck.

I test drove the TL and the ES 330. I ended up purchasing the ES even though it was more many than a comparably equipped TL. The TL is very nice, real sporty, but not as luxurious as the ES. It didn't have the quality feel of the Lexus. If luxury and refinement are what you're looking for go with the ES. If performance is what you're after look elsewhere.

Got a couple of close friends that have 04 TL and 05 ES330. The TL is a great drivers car. It has a very firm suspension so the ride is harsher than the ES. I do have to tell you, i saw my friend with the TL just yesterday and sat in his car, the interior workmanship is shoddy, he's got couple of rattles, the headliner has fell on him a couple of times and you can see "butt prints" on the leather after 2 years. I have sat in the ES330, maybe, 5 times and my first impressions was the beautiful interior. It puts you at ease. The one problem i did feel with the ES was transmission hesitation. When my friend would try to accelerate after slowing down to 1-5mph, the car would literally lurch as if it revved too much and then decide to correct itself instantly. This one problem would keep me from buying the car since i dont want to feel the lurching day in and day out. If its fixable, go for the ES for luxury or TL for performance. Honda engines seem to be smoother than toyota engines too.

The ES330 is no longer being made. Is this going to be a used es330? I would also check out the new ES350 and the new TL-S. If you are looking for horsepower and performance, i would actually look at the new Infinity G35 too.
