1997 ES300 Recalls
I was doing a little research on my car and I saw these:
Safety Recalls for the 1997 LEXUS ES300
Owner Notification Date: 04199911
Defect Summary: Steering:
Wheel and Column
Consequence Summary: This can result in a loss of vehicle control.
Corrective Summary: Dealers will tighten the steering wheel set nut.
NHTSA Campaign Number: 99V307000

Vacuum System
Consequence Summary: This can result in the elimination of vacuum assist to the brakes that can increase stopping distances and could lead to a vehicle crash.

Does anyone know anything about these? Should I take my baby in and have her checked? I'm gett whoozie and all vaclemt!!!! I CAN'T BREATH!!!!!!!! :eek:

If I were you, I would definitely take in your car so they can at least check the nut and make sure that it is torqued down to the proper specifications. My understanding is that it only takes a few minutes to do. I saw that same recall notice on several websites and I believe that it pertains to 1998 ES300's as well. Make an appointment to have it checked/fixed. Since it is a recall, it will be at no charge to you.
