Default Transmission slip. What next?

For as long as I've had my 95 es300 it hasn't given me any trouble until now. Yesterday my transmission started slipping. Only when it was running hot though. Now from what I hear I basically need a full rebuild or a new tranny. If this has happened to anyone else, could you please let me know what you ended up doing yourselves? Thanks

Cool

Flush the fluid out first. Or do drain & fills & drive around the block, park & shift into each gear positions & repeate atleast 3 times.
Just flush the fluid out.
Do not drive a slipping transmission at all & there will be no damage done to it passed brief moment<s> of accellerated wear.

Exactly what happens when your transmission slips?
I also have a 95 es 300 with 207000 miles (never rebuilt) and sometimes, the transmission doesn't shift when its supposed to (about 3 k rpm) goes to 4000-5000 rpm and does a really hard/jerky shift. Also, Pwr mode is NOT on. This happens more often when the engine is not fully warmed up. Also, I don't feel anypower in the 3-4k rpm range when the transmission doesn't shift
Could a transmission speed sensor cause it? On another occasion, I'm at a traffic light and i press the gas from a stop, and I'm sitting there like I'm in neutral and i have to shift to "L" to move and then everything is normal. Sometimes (rarely) my speedometer bounces from 0-100, -0-140-80- etc...and my odometer goes up with it too.
Hmm i wonder how much it costs to rebuild a transsmision b/c if its $3000 + My mom will buy me a sc300

HMMMMM... Let me see. I think I myself might tell mommy it's going to cost way more than $3000 to fix the tranny if I'm going to get an SC from her.
P.S. Is your mom looking to adopt any grown men???
