just bought a clean set of SC430 rims today with almost new 225/40/18 tires already on them
Im going to get the 3mm spacers tomorrow & put the rims on Sat. or Sun. will post pics
(I dont need anything else besides the spacers right?)
how many ppl on CL have this setup on a ES so far?

Yeah I believe the spacers should make you all set,
just a rough guess but I'd say atleast 6 members here are rockin' those Nice Wheels as well..
Congrats on your purchase, post up some pics too

this is my wifes 97 ES300, I did almost all the 01 upgrades so far except 2
Im trying to keep the car with a classy look not doing anything else to the outside except removing one of the ES300 emblems off the rear, havent decided which one yet.
I saw these wheels on a few members cars here & fell in love. IMO no other factory Lexus wheel looks better on a ES except the 5-Star LS430 wheels which are very hard to find at a decent price, I found some once but the deal fell through anyway here are pics, enjoy

well, if you are going to keep one badge, i'd keep the one on the trunk lid. it looks better than on the tail lights (i've always thought that was kind of a stupid place to put the badge... it doesn't flow as well).

In Canada, the 01's still had the badging on the lid....not sure why they woulda made things different in the States.

Take off both badges. But if your going to leave one on, then leave the one on the tail lights. That says that it is an 01 (or a least an 01 conversion if you do not have the wood steering wheel)

and who cares about trying to pretend to be an '01...
even if it was truly an '01... i think you should move it to the lid, because that is what LOOKS best. and that's what counts...
leaving it on the taillights JUST to pretend the car is an '01 is just as bad as those kids with civics running around town with a fake BOV so you think it's got FI...

[QUOTE=TEHdriven;2302891]which is kinda ricer/fake badging if that is the point you're going across.

Then why do the "01 conversion". For me, I would debadge the emblems LEXUS and ES300. This gives it a very clean look. And as far as what looks best, it is just a matter of opinion, and that is what counts

well, it's not really an 01 conversion... or any other conversion at that...
you're just putting on nicer looking taillights and a wood steering wheel. that's not converting anything, really.
