Default Yes, your ES has an AC/filter

Or shall i say, has a spot for an A/C filter. I just installed one on my 95 ES300. It is located next to your gas pedal, under the dash. It costs about $50 from your Lexus dealer to add/replace it.

Advantages- Smooth flowing, clean, dry, odorless air no matter were you pull it from (outside, or internal recirculation). Not only is it a filter, but it is also a deodorizer (according to the toyota package) NICE!

Disadantages- $50 freak'n dollars, not the easiest to install (they do give you instructions) did I mention, $50 bucks??

I opened the compartment were it is was supposibly located, and found old leaves and hair etc... d*mn! what the heck? were is the old one? the dealer did say it may not even be in there. they were right. I don't know if the p/o took it out or what but, anyway it's in there now.

Default 95 ES300 A/C Filter

is the filter located in the square white plastic thing (almost like a vent) that protrudes out from the bottom of the dash at a point which is way ABOVE the gas pedal?? so it's not anything located under the carpet??? I liftted up the carpet and so no compartmet near the gas pedal. I only saw a white plastic vent protrusion which was directly above the gas pedal BUT high enough where it comess out from under the dash and is immediately visible upon sticking your head under the wheel. Please clarify.

THANKS!

tried that, even the antibacterial fabreeze. Doesn't work for the mold/mildew that grows in the ac duct work.

Over the course of 5 days, spray Lysol disenfectant into the air intake of the ac/heater system (up by the base of the windhield under the hood). Spray the Lysol for 30-45 seconds while the AC is on the coldest setting and on full blower. Do this again with the heat on hot and the blower on full. If you vary the varying the vent positions helps too. (leg and defrost, leg and face, just leg, just face etc).

Cool

I got to diggin around to look. Couldn't find it.

Is it behind what looks like a plastic cover above and towards the passenger side? That's all I could find anyways.

Just stuck my head underneath ('98 es300), didn't see anything except as one poster stated, the white plastic thing "WAY" above the pedal. Anyone know? Can't find it anywhere in the manual either, so probably not there

Ok,

on a '97 & 98 I think I found it. It is behind the carpeting area to the right of the gas pedal.

1. Looking towards the engine compartment at about the height of the gas pedal and a little to the right or a little above and pretty close, there is a a white plastic cover about 1 inch by 4 inches. YOu can remove this, unfortunately, my slot was empty so I think a filter goes in there. If I stick my fingers in there, I feel the heat exchanger fins, so I am pretty confident that this is what we are looking for.

Suggestions?

Could you stick an home A/C filter in there? They are cheaper, you would jus have to cut it to size. Just a thought.

no luck all i see is this white L shaped box with horizontal lines across it. It has some horizontal play but it appears to be empty. I managed to stick my finger in. I think its just a the duct from the engine that supplys heat/ac to the vents above the radio in the center console.

I am in the process of ATTEMPTING To clear my 1997 tails STAY TUNED!
