Default Heat doesn't work!!

Rear heat that comes from center console doesn't work. it doesn't blow warm/hot heat which im guessing it doesn't work in the summer time. anybody else had this problem? how do you repair something like this?

thanks
Tae

It could be the heater valve mounted on the firewall in the engine compartment. It should be near where the heater hoses inter the cabin of the car.
Have another person turn on and off the heater in the cabin and see if the little arm opens.

Wow, an `02 with problems already? Take it to the dealer and have them check it out, is it still under warranty?

I'm not too familiar with the `02's but for the 97-01's it behind the intake boot on the firewall. There should be two hoses going into the firewall, the heater valve should be connected to one of them.

The heater valve basically acts as a valve the lets in hot coolant to go through the heater core (kinda like a small radiator) behind the dash and the fan blows air through the fins and in turn makes the air hot.
